Webster Groves Green Space Advisory Commission confirms officers; member to depart

Members at the Webster Groves Green Space Advisory Commission’s June meeting approved the prior meeting minutes, reappointed several officers by acclamation and heard notice of at least one forthcoming vacancy.

A member moved to approve the minutes; the motion was seconded and the commission approved the minutes after a brief correction about the date recorded in last meeting’s notes.

Teresa was nominated to continue as recording secretary; that nomination was seconded and approved by acclamation. “I nominate Teresa to continue as a reporting secretary,” a member said during the meeting; members thanked her for managing abbreviated but compliant minutes.

Rory was nominated and confirmed to continue as vice chair by acclamation. The group also reaffirmed the existing chair by acclamation after remarks reflecting on the responsibilities and turnover in staff liaison roles over the past year.

Separately, one commissioner announced an unexpected professional opportunity requiring relocation and stated this would be their last meeting; the member offered to consult during the transition of initiatives they lead. Members expressed appreciation for that commissioner’s service and discussed reassigning the initiatives the departing member managed.

Next steps: the commission will note vacancies and coordinate with city staff to fill open seats; officers will continue in their roles until formal replacements are appointed.
