Staff told the council that landfill Cells 3, 4 and 5 are projected to reach capacity and that Cell 7 should be in service by summer 2027. The council reviewed a recommended professional-services contract with Burns McDonald for construction administration during the Cell 7 project, including submittal review, attendance at construction meetings and on-site observation and documentation.
The contract presented is hourly and not to exceed $198,000; staff said the joint powers landfill fund has budgeted for the expense and recommended approval. "The professional service contract for the project is 198,000," staff said when outlining scope and budget.
A motion to approve the Burns McDonald construction-administration agreement was made and carried by voice vote. The contract proceeds as a budgeted item and staff said Burns McDonald previously provided the design contract for the project.
