PCBA forwards Baltic House restaurant special‑use permit to City Council

Staff reminded the board that the city’s noise ordinance generally limits live or amplified music at 10:00 p.m., and that one‑off later events can be handled through special‑event permits and departmental approvals. The applicants said weekend DJs were possible and acknowledged the need to comply with the noise ordinance or seek special‑event approvals.
Staff also asked that the restaurant provide an enclosed trash area with gates to control debris; the applicant agreed to install gates on the enclosure. The applicants said interior remodeling would be largely cosmetic and estimated an opening timeline of roughly four to eight weeks after approvals, with some additional kitchen equipment purchases required.
The PCBA voted to accept testimony and forward a recommendation for council approval; the item is on the City Council agenda for June 8 at 6:30 p.m.
