At the start of the meeting, Chair Jeff Smith welcomed attendees and introduced city representatives including City Council liaison Emily Hixon Shepard, City Attorney Peter Bruntger, Planning & Development Director John Wagger and new staff planner Evan Winkler.
The commission accepted the resignation of a long‑serving vice chair and voted to appoint Grace as vice chair. The vote was taken by voice and the commission recorded the outcome.
Planning director John Wagger told commissioners the city has engaged Zonco (Cincinnati) to revise the zoning and subdivision ordinances and to consolidate the comprehensive plan, sustainability plan and related documents into a single code‑aligned document; consultant Sean Sudter is scheduled to be in town to meet with city staff and commission representatives on the 9th for introductory interviews and field review.
Wagger also noted other local development and staffing news, including the recent hire of Evan Winkler as a staff planner and that the Stormwater Management Advisory Commission and a mayor’s youth advisory commission have new activity.
