The Archer Lodge council voted on June 1 to authorize engagement of May and Place to conduct the town’s fiscal-year audit and to allow appropriate officials to sign the engagement agreement.
Council members discussed that the town has operated under a year-to-year contract with the firm and that putting the audit out to competitive bid at this late date could delay audit completion; several members recommended rebidding the audit next year with sufficient lead time. A motion to approve the engagement and to plan a rebid next year carried unanimously.
The council recorded no changes to the current audit timetable and directed staff to execute the agreement so the audit can be completed on the usual schedule.
