No bids returned for West Endicott pool house; board approves park and field uses

Carol Laskowski of 37 Edwards Street asked what happens when a solicitation receives no bids; Planning Director Chris Kylor told the board staff will revisit the project details and then recall the bid.
The board approved multiple requests to use town recreation facilities. Councilman Thomas R. Augostini moved, and Councilman Frank J. Bertoni seconded, to approve use of three fields at the 17C facility on May 16–17 (rain dates June 6–7) for the Crandall Memorial Tournament and to waive fees for that event; the motion carried. The board also approved a Highland Park use request for a 5K on Aug. 15, 2026 (6:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.) to benefit Southern Tier Lyme Support and later approved a request to use Highland Park for a Duck Derby on Aug. 22, 2026 and a gym tagging party on Aug. 17. Motions on these items were moved by Augostini, seconded by Bertoni, and carried.
The board moved to refer an estimate from Eric Pirozzi for a previously submitted snowplow incident to the Commissioner of Public Works, Highway Superintendent, Town Attorney and the town's insurance carrier for review. Department reports for December 2025 were received and filed as part of the meeting record.
Next steps recorded in the minutes: Planning staff will revise project details for the pool house and recall the bid; referred repair estimates and insurance matters will be reviewed by the listed departments and carriers.
