Town Board authorizes heat-pump RFP at volunteer squad building, declares vehicles and equipment surplus for auction

The Town of Union Board on Jan. 15 authorized submission of a request for proposals for an air-source heat pump and energy-efficiency work at the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad building, 8 S. Avenue B in Endwell. The project was identified to be paid through the Clean Energy Communities program.
Councilman Frank J. Bertoni moved the action, which Councilman Thomas R. Augostini seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The agenda materials instruct the Commissioner of Public Works to accept the RFP and pursue Clean Energy Communities funding as available.
The board also adopted a resolution declaring numerous highway, sewer, parks and motor-pool vehicles and miscellaneous equipment surplus to Town needs and authorized them to be sold at auction. The filed equipment list in the minutes includes multiple pickup trucks (model years spanning 2005–2015), heavy trucks (Volvo, Freightliner), sweepers, sanders, mowers, trailers and assorted shop and field equipment; VINs and serial numbers were recorded in the meeting materials.
The surplus declaration was adopted unanimously; the minutes state that the detailed list will be filed as part of the official record and that the items will be sold at auction.
