Wolcott Board of Assessment Appeals grants reductions for four properties, denies one

The Wolcott Board of Assessment Appeals voted on March 24, 2026, at Wolcott Town Hall to grant assessment reductions for four properties and to deny one appeal, officials recorded.
Chairman Adam Glasser and board members Sharon A. Moore and Laurence E. Peck, Jr. presided. Secretary Angela Serrano read the docket of appeals and times before the board heard and decided the cases.
The board voted to grant an appeal for 15 Moss Lane, owned by Melanie G. Perry, reducing the assessment from $342,290 by $63,610 to $278,680. The motion to grant was made by board member Sharon A. Moore and seconded by Laurence E. Peck, Jr.; the recorded vote listed Adam Glasser and Laurence E. Peck, Jr. in favor and Sharon A. Moore opposed.
The appeal for 197 Allentown Road, filed by owner Edward J. Padaigas, was granted unanimously. Sharon A. Moore moved to grant the appeal, Laurence E. Peck, Jr. seconded, and the board approved the reduction from $213,910 by $14,720 to a new assessment of $199,190.
The board denied the appeal for 1570 Wolcott Road, owned by Barbara F. Troeger. The motion to deny, moved by Sharon A. Moore and seconded by Laurence E. Peck, Jr., carried unanimously; the assessment remained $183,500.
The appeal for 14 Old Farm Road, filed by Robert Guerrera, was granted unanimously. The assessment was reduced from $480,270 by $1,690 to $478,580 after a motion from Sharon A. Moore, seconded by Laurence E. Peck, Jr.
The board also granted the appeal for 204 Midwood Avenue, filed by James G. Parry, Sr.; a motion by Sharon A. Moore, seconded by Laurence E. Peck, Jr., passed unanimously, reducing the assessment from $283,370 by $24,900 to $258,470.
The minutes note that no action was taken on the appeal for 20 Wolf Hill Road #1-F (owner/appellant Mary Ann Berube) because the appellant did not appear.
In other business the board voted to cancel the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 6:25 p.m.; the motion was moved by Sharon A. Moore, seconded by Laurence E. Peck, Jr., and approved unanimously. At 9:01 p.m. the board adjourned after a unanimous motion to end the session.
The meeting minutes were recorded by Secretary Angela Serrano and will stand as the official record of the board’s actions on the appeals heard that evening.
