Regional police report: 1,136 calls in December; response time drops after regionalization

Lebanon County Regional Police briefed the North Lebanon Township Board of Supervisors on Dec. 2025 and year-end activity, reporting monthly counts and an improvement in average response time since regionalization.

Chief Timothy Knight told the board the department handled 1,136 calls for service in December 2025, of which 964 were reportable incidents and 465 occurred within North Lebanon Township. He also reported 42 total accidents across the three municipalities (23 in North Lebanon Township), 201 total citations (110 in North Lebanon Township), 160 total warnings (19 written in North Lebanon Township), 88 total crime statistics (52 in North Lebanon Township) and 16,211 miles traveled for the month.

Lieutenant Paul Savini reviewed the department's year-end activity for 2025 and described work by Sergeant Herberg with the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP). "This program is designed to reduce the number of accidents involving tractor trailer trucks by frequent safety inspections," Lieutenant Savini said.

When asked by Supervisor Arden Snook how response times compared with the prior year, Chief Knight said, "The response time in 2024 was 12 minutes on average and decreased to 4 minutes on average since regionalizing." The board did not take any vote on police operations; the presentation was informational.

The reports provide baseline counts and an operational update for supervisors; no policy changes were proposed at the meeting.
