Yamhill County approves $37,150 state grant to maintain three boat landings

On May 14, 2026, the Yamhill County Board of Commissioners approved Intergovernmental Maintenance Assistance Grant #2025-27-MAG70 with the Oregon State Marine Board to fund maintenance at Dayton, Ediger and Rodger’s Landings.
The grant provides $37,150 in state funds, requires a 40% local match and is retroactive to July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. Commissioner Kit Johnston moved approval; the motion passed with Commissioners Johnston, Mary Starrett and David “Bubba” King voting aye.
Parks Manager Travis Pease told the Board the grant would likely not be transferable to the City of Dayton if the city later acquired Dayton Landing; in that case the city would need to apply directly for the program to be eligible. The Board’s action authorizes the County to accept and implement the grant under current ownership and management.
The award is intended to cover routine maintenance at the three named landings used by recreational boaters and small watercraft. With the match requirement, county staff will identify local funds to meet the 40% obligation before finalizing grant acceptance and contract execution.
Next steps: county staff will complete grant paperwork and proceed with maintenance planning under the terms of the intergovernmental agreement.
