Central NH Regional Planning Commission briefs Boscawen planning board on land development regulation edits and NHDOT ROW policy

At the June 2 meeting of the Town of Boscawen Planning Board, Matt Monahan of the Central NH Regional Planning Commission briefed members on requested edits to the town's Land Development Regulations and on a notice from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation about a forthcoming policy revision on public use of rights of way.
Monahan said requested changes from Planning & Community Development Director Easler focused on application submittal details — the number of plan copies, plan sizes and the number of copies required for board members — and that the commission will provide redline changes for the board's review by July. He advised the board to coordinate bonding requirements with the town engineer because recent state law changes affect bonding practices.
Separately, Monahan relayed that the Town Administrator received an NHDOT email indicating that NHDOT is revising a policy governing public use of right of way for dining, retail and similar uses and that implementation is forthcoming; he said he will check whether Boscawen needs to take action on that policy change.
The board took no formal action on these items at the June 2 meeting but was briefed on the expected redline by July and directed staff to follow up as needed.
