Staff said the city performed mowing after the eight-day window the city allows and that, if the invoice becomes 30 days delinquent, the city can certify a lien to the county auditor for collection.
The owner had asked the board to waive the mowing charge on equity grounds; board members discussed the timeline of notifications, staff's process and the city's administrative options. One member moved to deny the waiver request; the motion was seconded and passed on voice vote.
Following the vote, the board directed staff to proceed with additional notice and normal collection steps if the invoice is not paid.
