Andy Nelson, chair of the Missoula County Democratic Central Committee, and vice chair Lauren Wilson used Episode 2 of the Missoula Dem Show to announce the committee’s next monthly meeting and a series of voter‑engagement events ahead of the June primary.
The committee scheduled its June 10 meeting at the Gallagher Business School, Room 123, and said immigration attorney Kari Hong will speak and take audience questions about legal immigration issues. "Kari is gonna come speak to us, and she will leave time to answer questions," Wilson said on the show.
Hosts also promoted a weekend of phone‑banking to get out the vote at Good Works Ventures (129 W. Alders Street) and a follow‑up Zoom session; in the episode they mentioned both May 30 and May 31 as dates for the in‑person phone bank. Because the episode gives two different dates for the in‑person session, listeners should confirm the correct date and time at missoulademocrats.org or the committee’s event listings before attending.
Wilson advised voters to use MyVoterInfo (myvoterinfo.org) to check registration status and to visit the county Elections Office on Wyoming Street to register or to drop off ballots. "The Elections Office . . . have folks there who can also register you to vote," she said. The hosts said the Elections Office offers some Saturday hours and will register voters the day before the primary (noted in the episode as noon on June 1) and on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Both hosts emphasized ballot‑return rules for mail ballots: signatures, a date and the voter’s year of birth must be written on the outer envelope or the ballot risks not being counted. Wilson said election staff make an effort to 'cure' ballots by contacting voters when information is missing, and urged listeners who receive a call to respond so their ballots can be corrected.
The episode also directed listeners to missoulademocrats.org for candidate questionnaires and videos and to watch past forums on the group’s YouTube page. "We typically live stream our presentations which you can live stream through the Missoula County Democrats YouTube page," Nelson said.
The hosts closed the segment with a reminder that ballots should be returned by the June 2 8:00 p.m. deadline and invited listeners to the June 10 meeting and other volunteer opportunities.
