The board approved a request allowing a small county committee to retain interest earned on its bank account — staff said the amount is negligible (about $6 annually) and that the treasurer had already signed off. Commissioners also accepted an employee FMLA request and authorized signatures on routine bond paperwork.
Commissioners reviewed a draft capital asset policy and its accompanying procedures; staff said the ordinance and full plan remain a work in progress and that consultants recommended for developing the plan will be contacted. The board approved several short infrastructure agreements: one to allow Spark Light to extend fiber along county roads near a Walmart entrance and another permit involving QC Communications to relocate overhead wire into the ground in a limited field section.
The county's generator preventive‑maintenance renewal was authorized, and staff reported the county is evaluating a new website vendor because the current contractor is going out of business later in the year. Commissioners directed staff to coordinate required legal review on zoning-letter requests and to document road conditions where state construction may cause reimbursable damage.
The meeting closed with staff noting follow-up items and scheduled reports will be filed with the board.
