Council hears Ready 2.0 update: six projects could bring nearly $20 million to Tell City

At the June 1 meeting, Council member Larry Kleman reported that the Perry County Development Corporation has submitted six projects in the Ready 2.0 pipeline that could bring significant investment to Tell City.
Kleman said the six projects would total approximately $19,661,000 in combined project budgets, including about $13.3 million in private investment and roughly $2.8 million in state Ready funds if all projects are ultimately approved. He noted that as of the May 12 regional review two projects had already received approval from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and four remained under IEDC review. Kleman emphasized that the figures are preliminary and no approvals are final until IEDC completes its review.
Kleman also reported he was elected to the Perry County Development Corporation executive committee and will participate in monthly meetings. He framed the pipeline as a potentially meaningful economic boost to the city, while cautioning that project approvals and funding remain subject to regional and state decisions.
Separately, the clerk/treasurer reported a shortfall in the county 911 dispatch contract payments, noting the city was about $41,000 short for January–March and had not yet received April and May payments; staff had invoiced for May on the day of the meeting.
