Mayor Christopher Arjerard read a proclamation declaring June 2026 as Pride Month and said the city supports the rights of all residents to equality and freedom from discrimination.
In the proclamation the mayor referenced the Stonewall riots of June 28, 1969, as a historic turning point and named local nonprofits Great Lakes Bay Pride and P Flag Great Lakes Bay as regional organizations that connect LGBTQ+ and ally communities to resources, education and advocacy. "I, Christopher Arjerard, mayor of the city of Bay City, do hereby proclaim June 2026 as Pride Month," he said while reading the proclamation.
