Lawrence County commissioners approve online sheriff-sale contract with RealAuction.com

Chairman responded that the change would clarify differences between sheriff sales (foreclosures) and tax-sales, and asked whether the system would be entirely online; the sheriff confirmed bidders could participate remotely and that the office hoped to launch the system for the September sheriff sale to allow adequate setup time.
After questions about vendor location and operational details, Commissioner Sonado made the motion, Commissioner Kennedy seconded and a roll call produced unanimous approval: Sonado — yes; Kennedy — yes; Vogler — yes.
The board did not attach contingencies to the approval; the sheriff said RealAuction would supply a local contact for implementation and training. The county clerk called the roll and recorded the vote. The sheriff thanked the board and left open further operational details for staff to finalize.
