Resident urges turnout for MSAD52 budget votes after local reduction

Anthony said the change lowers Greene's local impact from a 6.87% increase to about 5.32%. He urged residents to attend the next steps in the process: the district budget meeting at Levid Area High School on June 11 at 5:30 p.m. and the validation referendum in each town, including Greene, on June 25 from 1 to 7 p.m.
He characterized his remarks as his personal perspective and not an official board statement. Board members responded with procedural clarifications about how the district meeting and local referendum interact: whatever is approved at the district meeting is what will be presented to town voters at the validation referendum.
The board did not take a formal vote on the budget at the June 1 meeting; Anthony emphasized that registered voters from the three towns can attend the district meeting and propose amendments there.
Next steps: the district budget meeting on June 11 will determine the budget language to be sent to the validation referendum on June 25.
