Staff previews countywide wastewater study and supervisors authorize flood investigation at Turkey Creek

County staff said a wastewater feasibility study is underway, led by Jeff's team with participation from Mississippi State University and other partners, to explore countywide solutions and phased approaches that could be funded through grants. Staff characterized the current work as preliminary and without county cost to date; they said they will return with a formal presentation when analyses are ready.
Separately, supervisors addressed a citizen complaint about repeated flooding at a property on Turkey Creek (Wash Lane). Board members described a house that had been flooded repeatedly and approved a motion to send the county engineer and road manager to inspect the site and report back with technical findings and potential remedial options. "Motion authorize our engineer to go out with our road manager and look at the situation come back and forth to the board," a supervisor moved and the board passed the authorization.
The board also discussed near-term bond planning and the need to finalize project initiation forms and cost estimates so work can be scheduled when bond funds are available.
