Baltimore City Department of Public Works officials told WJZ hosts that the city will launch a redesigned water-billing platform and customer self-service portal on Monday, June 17.
A Baltimore City Department of Public Works representative said, "we are modernizing our water Billing System" to provide a "more easy experience for our customers," including an upgraded interactive dashboard and QR-code access that will take customers directly to the portal.
The portal will let customers create a username and login, build a profile that aggregates information from their bills, and view account history, consumption and any bill adjustments. Officials said the new bill template will be more public-facing, with brighter colors and clearer navigation to highlight historical usage and the amount due.
On paperless billing, the DPW representative said customers can use the QR code printed on the bill to set up an account and elect paperless delivery. "You can see your account history from when you set up your account up until now," the representative added, describing tools to track consumption and billing changes.
Officials encouraged residents to preview the new billing templates on the Department of Public Works website and DPW social media channels ahead of the June 17 go-live. The on-air segment concluded with hosts thanking Latoya Curtis and Toya Sykes of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works for the briefing.
The portal goes live June 17; customers seeking the new templates or instructions were directed to the Department of Public Works' online and social channels for details.
