Select Board approves warrants and minutes, schedules brief executive session; property revaluation and an abatement were discussed

North Berwick — At its March 3 meeting the Select Board approved meeting minutes and town warrants, scheduled a brief executive session on legal matters and received updates on a property abatement and the town’s ongoing property revaluation.

Procedural votes: Selectperson Michael Johnson Sr. moved to approve the minutes (the motion text records approval of the February 17, 2026 minutes, while the agenda line referenced February 3); the motion was recorded as seconded by Selectperson Johnson Sr., and the board voted 4-0 to approve. Selectperson Jonathan Hall moved to accept two warrants — $13,929.79 dated Feb. 24, 2026, and $405,281.99 dated March 3, 2026 — and Selectperson Michael Johnson Sr. seconded; the warrants passed by a 4-0 vote. The board then voted 4-0 to enter an executive session on legal matters for about 15 minutes beginning at approximately 7:48 p.m.; the minutes note no subsequent vote would be required.

Property tax matters: Dwayne Morin reported there were no abatements or supplementals to review that night, but said that a taxpayer named Pratt submitted an abatement that Verna is reviewing and that Hussey did not submit by the deadline. Morin also said staff from contractor KRT had begun ground-level fieldwork for the town’s revaluation: they will attempt contact up to three times, do exterior photographs only and use an interior checklist (number of bedrooms, bathrooms) rather than take interior photos.

The meeting adjourned after the scheduled executive session; the meeting minutes were prepared by stenographer Bonnie Michaud and forwarded to the town clerk. The signature block lists chair and selectboard members; the minutes also include the name Charles Galemmo in the signature block although that name did not appear in the meeting attendance line.
