Budget Committee nearing finish; $1,000,000 still pending, Select Board told

North Berwick — Town staff told the Select Board on March 3 that the FY27 Budget Committee is close to finishing its review, with one meeting remaining barring new issues.
Dwayne Morin, a town staff member, said the Budget Committee’s next meeting on March 4 would address the library, rescue and social services budgets and that about $1,000,000 of the proposed budget remained to be approved. He told the board he did not foresee major problems because the committee has largely aligned with the Select Board and town staff recommendations.
No formal action was taken by the Select Board on March 3; the Budget Committee meeting schedule and any subsequent adjustments will determine final line items and any required town decisions.
