Board approves removal of vacant property from solid-waste service list after manager report

The Jefferson County Solid Waste Board voted to remove a vacant parcel owned by George and Lynn Bar from the board's service list after the manager described unauthorized occupancy and a plan by the owners to sell the land.

Manager (Manager) told the board the Bar family lives out of state and the cabin on the parcel had recently been occupied by squatters. The manager said the owners' daughter bought the property for them, the family does not plan to move back and the owners are preparing to tear down the structure.
