Ripley County Council approves multiple 2025 transfers, tables one commissioners appropriation

Finance staff agreed to provide an itemized list showing school supply purchases funded from leftover grant money.
One additional appropriations request for the commissioners was tabled because the council said it lacked necessary information. Council members then approved a motion to table that specific commissioners item pending further details.
Council also accepted a state fetal and infant mortality review (FIMR) coordinator grant for a seven‑county service area contingent on receiving the state contract and funding paperwork. Legal counsel clarified that the grant is reimbursable, meaning the county must spend first and then seek reimbursement once the contract is in place.
Most routine transfers and appropriations passed on voice/hand votes; where debate emerged, members asked staff for supplemental paperwork and cost breakdowns before final action. The council adjourned at about 7:20 p.m.
