Michelle Bowman, senior zoning officer (standing in for the zoning administrator), summarized five items scheduled for the June 24 Board of Zoning Appeals hearing, citing the relevant zoning ordinance sections (40.2‑535 and 40.2‑534). Properties listed for BZA consideration included 1220 High Street, 3610 County Street, and two parcels on Highland Avenue (1301 and 1303) seeking setbacks/parking adjustments and a variance. Commissioners asked staff to provide more detail on a citizen concern for the Airline Boulevard townhouse proposal; staff said they will follow up before the public hearing.
Procedurally, staff informed the commission that a quorum requires four members and that three members were present for the public session. The chair read the bylaw requirement and adjourned the meeting, scheduling reconvening for June 8 at noon so the commission can consider the deferred agenda items with a full quorum. Staff also introduced new senior planner Allera Farandic to commissioners at the work session.
