Commissioners approve rezoning for Bloom Pediatric Therapy to open second office on Highway 19

The Pike County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 28 approved a rezoning request allowing Bloom Pediatric Therapy to convert a house on U.S. Highway 19 into a secondary office.
Planning staff told the board the 1.77‑acre parcel lies in the Highway 19 overlay district and is consistent with the county’s character area map. The Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval with three conditions: an overlay review if thresholds are triggered under Article 16 of the Unified Development Code, buffers per Article 26, and a commercial building permit ensuring life‑safety and ADA compliance before issuing a business license.
Owners Ivy Scoggin and Kelly Herd told the board the change will move administrative functions to the site and will not increase traffic.
The board moved, seconded and approved the rezoning by show of hands with no opposition.
