At its March 4 meeting, the North Berwick Budget Committee approved several outside-agency and cemetery appropriations.
Chairperson Rebecca Reed read Article 39 seeking $22,600 for Municipal Cemeteries; Roger Guptill moved and Katherine Placey seconded the motion, which passed 9-0-2. The committee also approved Article 37 for Cemeteries and the Historical Society for $13,410 (moved by Gregg Drew, seconded by Roger Guptill; vote 11-0).
The committee examined Article 40 for outside agencies and approved a $10,616 total with line-item allocations: American Legion $2,500; Seacoast Shipyard $500; Eastern Trail $5,000; Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission $2,616. The motion to approve Article 40 (moved by Gregg Drew, seconded by Julie Fernee) passed 11-0.
These appropriations will be included in the town’s budget warrant. No member of the public spoke on these items during the meeting.
