Caucus briefed on funding eligibility changes for county cesspool remediation in HB 2096

Vicente told the caucus that House Bill 2096 allows counties to apply for and receive financial assistance from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) to remediate, close or replace cesspools.
He said the Senate amended the bill to add compliance with ADEQ's (Arizona Department of Environmental Quality) nonpoint-source management plan as an alternative to compliance with a county's water-quality management plan for financial-assistance eligibility, and that the bill adds related definitions.
Vicente indicated the sponsor concurs with the conference changes and offered to answer questions; caucus members did not record a formal vote during this presentation.
