City staff said the project is funded in part by a prior tax grant of $50,000 and FEMA recovery funds appropriated earlier this year. "The low bid that also has the required permits for the project is 6G Construction LLC... and this is a project to not exceed $148,500," a staff member said at the meeting. The bid was broken into two items: the parking lot and the sidewalk, with the parking lot the more expensive component.
Staff also said playground equipment for the park has been procured through a cooperative purchasing agreement tied to FEMA recovery appropriations, and they are coordinating construction and equipment delivery so the park closure will be consolidated.
