Committee members suggested posting near local grocery stores (Nugget) and at the fire department drop-off area to reach passersby.
Staff also updated the committee on Bay Area Air District deliberations over Rule 96, the proposed zero-emissions water-heater regulation. Staff reported board discussion required two meetings because of many public comments; staff said revised language addressing affordability and implementation (including exemptions where there is insufficient space or needed electrical upgrades) will be released ahead of a planned October vote. Staff reported an informal board tally of roughly 10 directors in favor and eight opposed at the discussion stage and said staff recommended delaying implementation by nine months to October 2027 so the agency can define exemption processes.
Committee members agreed to place the electrification materials in the town newsletter and pursue targeted postings and event materials.
