The East Hampton Town Board on Tuesday approved multiple administrative resolutions, foremost among them the establishment of a project advisory committee for the Sustainable Planning and Coastal Communities (SPCC) project and related budget amendments.
The board passed Resolution 2026-912 to form the SPCC advisory committee, a stakeholder panel that will guide public engagement and review deliverables for a $600,000 New York State Department of State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program grant. The board subsequently approved Resolution 2026-913 to accept updated subcontractor costs and finalize consultant arrangements so the planning work can move forward with public outreach and technical analysis.
Other actions the board approved by unanimous voice vote included acceptance of a $51,300 proposal to replace roofing and siding at the town airport terminal (Resolution 2026-925), authorization for emergency Harbor Boulevard road repairs (Resolution 2026-921), inspections and minor contracts for housing-rehabilitation inspections, and several seasonal special-event permits for local surf and paddleboard businesses.
Board members described the SPCC work as focused on balancing economic vitality, coastal hazard mitigation and long-term community needs such as housing and infrastructure capacity. Several resolutions are administrative in nature and do not change town policy beyond approving expenditures or authorizing staff to proceed with contracted work.
What happens next: Town staff will convene the new advisory committee, finalize subcontractor agreements, and begin public outreach required by the grant. Routine contract work (airport roof, emergency repairs) will proceed under existing departmental procurement practices.
