Chuck Dylan of 529 Lillian Drive told the commission the four spaces opened at the park appear “full all the time” and asked, “could we at least get those four spots designated for residents?”
Commissioners and staff discussed options including resident‑only stickers verified by parking enforcement or installing temporary meters if the spaces need to transition to paid parking after the park fully opens. A commissioner suggested resident stickers would allow officers to verify pass holders and issue citations to nonresidents. The board generally favored a resident‑only designation as an easier near‑term fix; a commissioner said the city would monitor usage and return to the issue at a subsequent meeting if the spaces remain unused.
The mayor said the city’s parking team would track whether the spots are being used by residents and the commission asked staff to implement the resident designation and report back if enforcement or paid parking should be considered.
