City reports $90,580.50 in façade reimbursements for 2025 and $56,493.37 pending

Staff told the commission that administration of the façade grant program has moved to the building department and that Main Street Rensselaer will serve as the funding pass-through going forward; Stace Pickering has replaced Sarah Young on the scoring committee.
For 2025 staff said the city paid $90,580.50 in reimbursements: Cross Point Plaza LLC received $25,000 (out of a $60,203 total project cost), Dave Zeltwanger was paid $25,000 (of $78,247), Unique Fines received $10,874 (of $22,400), BNC Property Management received $8,231.50 (of $16,483.50) and Harrison Street LLC received $21,475 (of $42,950). Staff said those disbursements stimulated roughly $129,726.50 in private matching funds from property owners.
Staff listed three pending reimbursements totaling $56,493.37: CI Insurance submitted a reimbursement request for $14,132 (total cost $29,441.80), 181 Properties submitted $17,361.37 (total cost $37,722.73), and Amy McCoy/Minger Creations LLC has work-in-progress with a requested reimbursement of $25,000 (total project cost $58,700) and a deadline to complete work and submit documentation by Sept. 30.
Commissioners asked for property addresses to be included in future reports; staff agreed to provide addresses in the next report. No formal action was taken.
