Greg Petrol, the town’s natural‑resources inventory project manager, told the board the NRI is live on Hurley’s website and available as a 230‑page e‑book with clickable maps. “I am very pleased to announce that the NRI is live on our website,” Petrol said during public comment, and he demonstrated how to view maps and topography online.
The board was told the NRI was a year‑long project delivered slightly over the schedule set in January but within budget. Petrol said the NRI will be used as a source of data for the town’s comprehensive plan but will not itself be adopted as a policy document. Board members and staff discussed placing the NRI material into the comp plan process and how the maps will inform future planning decisions.
Members asked operational questions about project timing, source material for the maps and outstanding administrative items such as outstanding payments; one board member noted follow‑up on remaining invoices from named staff (checks to be confirmed by Kathy Hok). The board thanked Petrol for delivering maps and data ahead of many expectations and encouraged staff to incorporate the NRI’s findings into upcoming comp‑plan work.
