FEMA: 46 local households registered for flood relief; $141,419 dispersed, registration ends June 10

Stuart Anderson, an intergovernmental affairs specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, told the Kent City Council during public comment that 46 households in the two local ZIP codes had registered for individual assistance following December flooding and that FEMA has dispersed $141,419 in assistance so far.
Anderson reminded residents that June 10 is the last day to register; people who register by that date still have 18 months to provide required paperwork and documentation. He also said FEMA planned a pop-up outreach tent in the area on Thursday evening to support registration and answer questions.
Anderson characterized the household count as registrations by address and noted the figure could understate the number of affected individuals within households. He encouraged anyone affected by the December flooding to register before the deadline so they can access possible individual assistance.
