Public commenters urge Burien council for climate action update and more visible local leadership

Sternberg also recommended an update on the transportation master plan adopted in October 2024 and suggested promoting small resident actions such as an Earth Day cleanup and continued outreach about the residential energy efficiency program that still has available funds.
Councilmembers responded by noting interest in following up: the mayor and other members said they would consider agenda items to revisit climate actions, and staff later confirmed the council was open to scheduling presentations. No specific staff timeline or commitments for the requested climate‑plan presentation were recorded during the meeting.
