The Tinicum Township Board of Supervisors voted June 2 to award the advertised 2026 seal-coat contract to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions (AMS) for $114,721.10, the lowest qualified bid. Township Manager Judith Dano told the board the project covers roughly 79,118 square yards and that the township had budgeted $125,000, so the low bid would save about $10,278.90 if approved and funded from the Liquid Fuels allocation.
Supervisors discussed whether the township should plan for full road rebuilds for some corridors rather than relying on tar-and-chip preservation. Members said they will consider proposing a road-reconstruction plan during the 2027 budgeting process and noted some work, such as tennis court resurfacing, will require grants or additional appropriation. A resident suggested setting aside part of the bid savings for a special project; supervisors said that could be discussed in the budget cycle.
The award motion was moved, seconded and carried; the manager and public works will proceed with contracting and execution as budgeted.
