Philomath staff told the Park Advisory Board on June 2 that the long-awaited outdoor exercise equipment was delayed in transit but is expected to arrive before a planned ribbon-cutting and community event on June 30.
Staff said parts for the trapeze-like signature element arrived in transit and crew scheduling means wood chips for surfacing should be delivered before the planned late‑June date. "As of right now, it looks like we're going to be able to hold that ribbon cutting date, which I think was the 30th," staff told the board.
The city plans a public ribbon-cutting with photos and a community "workout party" to demonstrate the equipment. Staff said the mayor is expected to be invited and that the local newspaper will be asked to attend. Board members were invited to attend and help promote the event; staff suggested contacting local fitness groups (Fitness Over 50, CrossFit) and chamber partners for outreach.
No formal approvals were required at the June 2 meeting; staff will circulate final event details and invitations once delivery is confirmed.
