He said the proposed TIF would support the establishment of a 23‑parcel residential subdivision on the east side of town off 12th Street and noted the city has used TIF previously for main‑street and north commercial redevelopment.
Steve Klene was introduced as the consultant who assisted with prior successful TIF districts and was available to answer questions. Council asked whether the two ordinances could be handled together; a motion to approve ordinances 26‑11 and 26‑12 was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
The public hearing on the proposed east‑side TIF district was set for July 20 as part of the statutory process; Lou said no interested parties have yet registered for prior TIFs, but the registry provides notice opportunities.
