County manager documents staff refusal to sign social‑media acknowledgement; Fire Marshal to resign June 30

She emphasized that refusal to sign does not exempt employees from the requirements of the policy: "Regardless of whether the acknowledgement is signed, all employees remain subject to the requirements and expectations outlined in the social media policy," she said.
Miss Williamson also updated the board on budget work sessions scheduled for June 3 at 4:00 p.m. at the historic courthouse and June 4 (same time and location) to receive the school superintendent and other department head presentations. She asked commissioners to let her know which department heads they want to have present on June 4.
The county manager further announced that Verdie Massen Gill will resign as Caswell County Fire Marshal effective June 30 and that the county will need to budget the position into FY27. Staff will present options and cost estimates for that budget revision at an upcoming work session.
What happens next: HR will document acknowledgements and refusals as directed; finance and administration will bring required budget amendments and staffing proposals to the board during the June work sessions.
