City Manager Dave told the council the community experienced heavy rain overnight in parts of the city. During the city-manager report, Police Chief Tanner John updated the council on storm-siren outages.
“We do have the part on order. I don't have an ETA yet,” Tanner John said, adding that the department will know more when the vendor provides scheduling. He urged residents to "follow your local weather," the National Weather Service, and the police department's social media for alerts and cautioned residents not to rely solely on sirens while repairs are pending.
Manager Dave said the city is coordinating with police to notify vulnerable locations, including local campgrounds, when staff becomes aware of impending adverse weather. No timeline for siren installation was given at the meeting.
The council then recessed to an executive session to discuss contractual matters.
