Windham Board of Assessment Appeals reduces one assessment by $10,000, denies request for special meeting

The Town of Windham Board of Assessment Appeals met March 19, 2026, and voted to lower the 2025 assessed value for 34 Nutmeg La. by $10,000 while leaving the assessments for 3 Gifford Ave. and 700 Pleasant St. unchanged.
The meeting was called to order at 12:16 p.m. by Murphy Sewall. The board approved the minutes of the March 12, 2026 meeting after a motion by Sarah Winter, seconded by Murphy Sewall.
On the first appeals vote, Daniel Phipps moved, with a second from Murphy Sewall, to leave the 2025 Real Estate Grand List value for 3 Gifford Ave., owned by Douglas Yeager, unchanged; the motion passed. Later, Sarah Winter moved and Daniel Phipps seconded a motion that the board unanimously approved to leave the 2025 value for 700 Pleasant St., owned by Nicholas Laskos, unchanged.
On a separate appeal, Daniel Phipps moved and Sarah Winter seconded a motion to reduce the 2025 Real Estate Grand List value for 34 Nutmeg La., owned by Nancy Davidson, by $10,000; the board voted unanimously to approve that reduction.
The board then considered a request from Krystle Huchton, who identified herself as a representative for David Krause Trustee and Patton Group Limited Partnership, asking to schedule a special meeting so appeals that had missed their scheduled appointment could be heard. Sarah Winter moved, Daniel Phipps seconded, and the board voted to deny the request.
Chair Murphy Sewall adjourned the meeting at 1:18 p.m. Judy Squier is listed as Recording Secretary for the Board of Assessment Appeals.
