Township schedules Mount Nebo roadside cleanup for June 27

The Chair announced a rescheduled community cleanup on Mount Nebo Road for 9:30 a.m. on June 27, 2026, asking residents to scan the QR code on the event flyer to sign up and noting two Department of Public Works staff will help ensure safety. "It's a rescheduling from the one that you've had in April," the Chair said.

The event is planned to run from 9:30 a.m. until about noon, with refreshments provided afterward. The Chair said equipment—trash bags, gloves and pickers—will be supplied and recommended wearing repellent; speakers in the meeting mentioned permethrin as the recommended spray and cautioned attendees to treat footwear.

Organizers said turnout has been light so far (two people were registered at the time of the meeting) and urged members to add the event to their calendars to ensure adequate coverage of the route. Volunteers will stage at Shiny Square and proceed along the lower portion of Mount Nebo Road; the group expects to work for roughly two to three hours depending on conditions.

The Chair also asked members to report back after attending training or related conferences so the township can disseminate learned practices to supervisors and the broader volunteer pool. Because a majority attending the same seminar could create a quorum, the Chair reminded members to split up seminar sessions to avoid appearing to deliberate outside a public meeting.
