The Northern Lebanon School District Board of Directors approved the district’s 2026–27 budget by a 5–4 roll‑call vote at its June 2 meeting.
The roll call on item 7.3 recorded votes as follows: yes — Director Fowler, Director Murray, Director Klene, Director England and President Nam; no — Director Kryser, Director Moyer, Vice President Williams and Director Blau. The motion carried by a 5–4 margin.
During the finance reports, Business/Finance staff (Miss Martin) and Superintendent Dr. Messinger summarized fund balances and a funding plan that would move $4.9 million into the district’s capital reserve. Dr. Messinger said the transfer is intended to support future capital projects or to pay down the district’s loan with First Citizens Bank.
Other routine finance and contract items were approved unanimously or by grouped motions: the board adopted the annual homestead and farmstead resolution, approved student activity and cash disbursement reports, confirmed no increase in school lunch prices ($2.80 secondary, $2.50 elementary), and authorized annual service agreements including the school dentist (Jonestown Dental Associates), legal counsel, fuel procurement through Lancaster‑Lebanon IU13 and sports medicine coverage.
Personnel and student‑service contracts reviewed and approved included several IU13 shared‑services agreements for occupational/physical therapy, speech language services and personal care assistance for 2026–27.
The board’s approval of the budget concludes the district’s formal adoption process for the coming fiscal year. Administration said it will continue to report on fund balance usage and any future capital‑project proposals to the board for further approval.
