Officials said the document remains a working draft; a redline comparison between old and new versions will be posted for board members before final action. The superintendent also flagged that final stipend and pay timing could change depending on any state actions related to teacher pay proposals.
Separately, the board discussed a new designation, SmartSteps paraprofessional, for staff working with K–2 students who have severe maladaptive behavioral or emotional needs. The district proposed a $3,000 stipend for those paraprofessionals to bolster recruitment and retention. Training and program details will be coordinated with behavioral-health staff and principals.
