The Aiken City Design Review Board on June 2 voted to schedule a public hearing for July 7 to consider application DES26-010003, in which applicants John Greenboom and Chris Eaton requested that 524 Coker Springs Road be designated a contributing property in the historic overlay (Taxmap parcel 105-12-10-002).
The board’s secretary read the application and explained that the board must set a hearing before it can issue a determination on designation. A motion to place the application on the July 7 agenda was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board asked staff to notify the applicants that the item will appear on the next meeting agenda.
What happens next: staff will post public-notice materials and hold the public hearing on July 7; the board will take public testimony and then decide whether to schedule a subsequent decision or vote.
