Township approves routine business: K9 recognition, auxiliary police appointment and disposal of surplus K9 vehicle
Summary
Supervisors recognized K9 officer Kevin Mcwigan and his K9 Nisha for 20 years of service, appointed Regina Dilleski to the auxiliary police, and approved sale/disposition of a surplus K9 vehicle to a similar municipality.
At the start of the June 16 meeting, the board paused for ceremonial and routine business. Chief Matalage recognized K9 handler Kevin Mcwigan and his K9, Nisha, for 20 years of service to the township police department.
The board approved the appointment of Regina Dilleski (also recorded as Gelski in the packet) to the auxiliary police after the chief recommended her to the board. Later in the meeting township manager Dan Kerr presented a request to dispose of a surplus K9 police vehicle; staff noted a similar vehicle had been sold previously to another municipality and the township requested authorization to sell the unit for an offered price. The board moved and voted to authorize disposition of the vehicle.
These items were routine and approved by unanimous or near-unanimous voice votes; no appeals or public objections were recorded on these agenda items.
