Sarpy County to split cost with Douglas County to extend Harrison Street to serve new subdivision

Sarpy County commissioners approved an interlocal cooperation agreement with Douglas County on June 2 to split costs to extend Harrison Street roughly 1,000 feet west of 225th Street to serve the Burlington Trails Estates residential subdivision.
Scott, who presented the item, said each county will split the construction cost 50/50 and be able to recapture the county’s share as development occurs. “We’ll split it 50/50,” Scott said, noting the work builds pavement up to the subdivision’s first east entrance and that the county will seek reimbursement from developers as plats move forward.
Commissioners moved and seconded the action and approved the resolution. The board will proceed with the interlocal agreement and subsequent construction steps tied to subdivision platting and developer reimbursement terms.
