Pike County board approves DevNet renewal, routine minutes and appointments; Hope Trust dividend noted

The Pike County Board approved several routine items during the July 28 meeting, including a five‑year renewal with DevNet for county tax/assessment software and services. Staff said the renewal increases the annual cost by roughly $8,000–$12,000 compared with current payments; the board approved the renewal after a motion and second.
The board also reviewed and approved committee minutes from finance, highway, building and grounds, public safety and ETSB (911) committees. Committee reports included audit updates, highway roof and air‑conditioning repairs, and public‑safety equipment and training needs.
Several reappointments were approved without recorded opposition: Tom Ley, Dr. Brett Schaeer, and Sherry White, NP, to the Pike County Board of Health (terms through June 30, 2028); Don Welburn to the Bay Creek Watershed Conservancy District Board (five‑year term); and Jeremy Thomas to the Rural Pittsville Fire Protection District board (three‑year term). The board also approved county holidays for 2026 to include the November general election day.
Board members noted a Hope Trust dividend certificate for $16,380; staff said the payment would be contingent on renewal activity and timing with Hope Trust.
