The Pike County Board on July 28 approved a conditional‑use permit for an agricultural‑service business at 17724 County Highway 11, Pleasant Hill, after a presentation from county planning staff and a statement from the applicant.
Greg Wyatt, who presented the zoning packet, said the application covered manufacturing of fencing and gates, trailer repair and retail sales of trailer and forestry parts. Planning staff and the zoning board recommended approval following their review and public meeting; the applicant, David Shock, told the board he has operated at the location for 19 years and attended the meeting to answer questions.
The board approved the permit with three conditions recommended by planning staff: manufacturing activities will be limited to 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday (no manufacturing on Sundays); retail sales hours will be set by the owner; and loading, unloading or parking along County Highway 11 is prohibited (deliveries must be made on‑site and driveway changes require county highway approval).
The motion to approve carried after a second; the board recorded the motion as approved. The decision authorizes the applicant to construct a new 64‑by‑40 building with a breezeway connecting to the existing structure subject to the listed restrictions.
